Nuns & Wedding Rings[]

Re nitpick - I thought nuns frequently wore wedding rings - you know - 'cause they are married to God? Having said that my bet is the actress was married, and kept her ring on, as opposed to the costume designer insisting she wore one to be true to the character.

Hi Warwick. You're right, nuns do wear rings to signify their holy bond with God. Whether or not the actress is wearing a prop or her own ring provides fun fodder for speculation but not cause for nitpick since the end result serves the fiction. So I guess the recently added nitpick doesn't qualify as, well, a nitpick? It's not mine, so should it be edited?Warwick 19:43, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Well, then, as the one who added the nitpick, I've been schooled. On the other hand, shouldn't something be mentioned that the other nuns DON'T have wedding bands? Wouldn't this have been a dead giveaway that Jaime wasn't a real nun?
Some nuns receive rings only after taking certain vows or achieving a certain number of years. Some good reading here and here.
