The Woof Boy[]

Lee Majors pronounces Wolf as "woof' and it is extremely annoying throughout this episode. Is there any way to add this to the nitpicks section? TakeMeBack 07:32, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Sure, go ahead. Just be sure to leave out the commentary. And be prepared to see this deleted if a consensus disagrees; I don't have the episode, but I don't remember Steve saying "woof." Nitpicks that come down to individual interpretation are tricky and not very popular.  ;) — Paul (talk) 13:34, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
Lee isn't making light or being flip; he has a southern accent. While he downplays it usually, sometimes it is audible. He genuinely pronounces wolf as "woof" from his regional dialect. Watch The Return of Bigfoot; when Steve says to Gillian: "I don't think the Sasquatch is stealing the gold and emeralds for their value," he says "for their val-yuh". If mentioned it should be trivia rather than a nit; i.e.: "Lee Majors' accent is quite noticable in this ep" as regional dialects are not an error.-Major Sloan 18:30, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I didn't think it was intentional or a joke. I think he really pronounces it this way. I also remember though, howling with laughter every time he said it. I guess I can leave it out and just keep my remembrances to myself. TakeMeBack 20:41, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
Well, the wiki is supposed to be an objective resource. That's why opinion and personal reactions don't belong, as people will object if a shared resource seems to favor one side or perspective. Media reactions can be attributed and kept in their "box". Popular sentiment, even widespread and prevailing, is hard to prove without polling or what have you. Things like "some say" or "many believe" are wiki anathema. Nothing wrong with mentioning it here in talk, though. I had a similar reaction when I was a kid to the "Woof Boy.";) -Major Sloan 01:18, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
